Modulation of physiological plasticity through structural and functional modifications in Stipagrostis plumosa L. for adaptability to hyper-arid environments

چکیده
The role of morpho-physiological attributes along with the antioxidant potential Stipagrostis plumosa L. populations collected from arid regions in adaptability to aridity was evaluated. Root shoot length, chlorophyll, carotenoids, and organic osmolytes (total free amino acids, total soluble proteins, glycinebetaine, proline) increased more activities enzymes (APX, CAT, POD, SOD). fresh:dry weight ratio leaf area decreased increasing dryness (D: 8.40?30.49) decreasing precipitation (519 mm 143 mm). Hyperarid [Noorpur Thal - NpT 10.90; P: 400 mm) Cholistan Cho (D:30.49; mm)] relied on reduced plant biomass, longer roots, higher accumulation osmolytes, better compartmentation ions root shoot. epidermal thicknesses, cell area, proportion cortical parenchyma, metaxylem abaxial stomatal density significantly while stem epidermis thickness, relatively less [Neela WahnNeW 8.40; 519 Kallar Kahar-KKr 8.99; 485 mm)]. In conclusion, survival S. under water deficit directly linked plasticity anatomical traits such as hairs, thick leaves, intense sclerification roots epidermis, cortex endodermis, vascular bundle. These not only accounted for movement solutes but also help conserve provided mechanical strength hyperarid environments.

Abstract This paper presents a robust approach using artificial neural networks in the form of a Self Organizing Map (SOM) as a semi-automatic method for analysis and identification of morphometric features in two completely different environments, the Man and Biosphere Reserve “Eastern Carpathians” (Central Europe) in a complex mountainous humid area and Yardangs in Lut Desert, Iran, a hyper...

in fact, this study focused on the following questions: 1. is there any difference between the effect of functional/notional approach and the structural approaches to language teaching on the proficiency test of efl learners? 2. can a rather innovative language test referred to as "functional test" ge devised so so to measure the proficiency test of efl learners, and thus be as much reliable an...

Under extreme water deficit, endolithic (inside rock) microbial ecosystems are considered environmental refuges for life in cold and hot deserts, yet their diversity and functional adaptations remain vastly unexplored. The metagenomic analyses of the communities from two rock substrates, calcite and ignimbrite, revealed that they were dominated by Cyanobacteria, Actinobacteria, and Chloroflexi....
متن کاملPhysiological adjustments to arid and mesic environments in larks (Alaudidae).
Because deserts are characterized by low food availability, high ambient temperature extremes, and absence of drinking water, one might expect that birds that live in these conditions exhibit a lower basal metabolic rate (BMR), reduced total evaporative water loss (TEWL), and greater ability to cope with high air temperatures than their mesic counterparts. To minimize confounding effects of phy...

Oral administration of the combination of L-threonate (threonate) and magnesium (Mg(2+)) in the form of L-Threonic acid Magnesium salt (L-TAMS) can enhance learning and memory in young rats and prevent memory decline in aging rats and in Alzheimer's disease model mice. Recent results from a human clinical trial demonstrate the efficacy of L-TAMS in restoring global cognitive abilities of older ...
